What information API is out there for video game data?

I want to create a small application that just lists upcoming games with their release dates. Ideally this will provide a thumbnail of sorts that when clicked will take the user to that games website. Not it's official website, but the API providers page for that game.

Is there any API out there you would recommend for games? Free is a must since this application is going to be 100% free and open source as well.

The above list is not in specific order exept for the number of games, i have personally tested TheGamesDB in one of my project and i have to say that is ok, but probably i should have used all 3 services together... As you will see, most of them are community driven database and not all of them are meant to be used as an API service but for the record i have mentioned it, maybe someone can be interested in creating a scraper. ;-)
