Linux Question

Can't load to Boot into Text Mode / Console / Command Line even do I have changed the grub

I'm on Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS Server. I'm new to linux so decided to install Gnome.

sudo apt-get install xorg gnome-core gnome-system-tools gnome-app-install

I still want to boot to command prompt.. So I tried to update the grub file.

I followed all the steps:
sudo gedit /etc/default/grub

edit the grub see below: and after i did: sudo update-grub
after I rebooted, but still continue to boot to the gui...

Please help!

# If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update
# /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
# For full documentation of the options in this file, see:
# info -f grub -n 'Simple configuration'

GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`

# The resolution used on graphical terminal
# note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE
# you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo'

I think you want

sudo systemctl enable --force
sudo systemctl set-default
