Java Question

How do you get the fully qualified class name in Eclipse?

Is there a fast way to click on a Java class in Eclipse and obtain its fully qualified name, or copy it to the clipboard?

Answer Source

Try this:

  1. Hover the mouse pointer over the name of a class in the editor window, it can be anywhere in the code where a class name appears
  2. In the pop-up window that appears, double-click the fully-qualified name
  3. Press Ctrl + c to copy

  1. In the project explorer (generally the left window), click on a class name
  2. Press Alt + ENTER to display the properties window
  3. Select and copy the class' path. But you'll need to manually replace the / characters with .
