Ruby Question

gem install rails fails on ubuntu

The error message:

Building native extensions. This could take a while...
ERROR: Error installing rails:
ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension.

after upgrading to Rails 4.2.4 on Ubuntu 14.04 (I'm using RVM) I needed to do this:

sudo apt-get install libgmp-dev


sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev
